Job Description
The Material Handler maintains accurate inventory, supports production by issuing and kitting materials, and ensures all parts are handled, stored, and documented correctly within a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain organized inventory storage areas and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Issue materials from the stock room and assemble kits for special projects such as production control plans, sales orders, engineering change notices, non-conformance reports, and return material authorizations.
- Accurately pick, count, and label parts for production operations according to pick lists and other production documentation.
- Document material shortages clearly and enter all relevant data into SAP in a timely and accurate manner.
- Audit returned kits, verify contents, and re-shelve parts in the correct locations to maintain inventory integrity.
- Follow established materials handling procedures and adhere to ESD (electrostatic discharge) control guidelines at all times.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed, ensuring materials move efficiently through the facility.
- Use computer systems to look up parts, update inventory records, and complete daily material transactions.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Computer literacy with experience using Windows-based systems.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, and general material handling.
- Ability to accurately pick, count, and label parts for production.
- Capability to follow documented procedures, including materials handling and ESD control processes.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including daily and weekly overtime as required.
- Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for inventory and materials transactions.
- Familiarity with Oracle 11i is a plus.
- Previous experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Comfort working closely with a small team in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, indoor, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will work closely with a small team of approximately 4–5 colleagues, collaborating daily to support production and inventory accuracy. The position involves regular use of computers, inventory systems, and standard material handling equipment in a structured, process-driven setting. The dress code is casual and practical, typically jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes, suitable for hands-on material handling work.

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
