Job Title: Systems Engineer
Job Description
This role focuses on supporting unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The systems engineer will be involved in the entire lifecycle of projects, from definition and design to testing and validation. The successful candidate will develop requirements, create system design documentation, utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, and plan and conduct tests to validate requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer and stakeholder requirements.
- Decompose and allocate requirements to system and subsystem elements.
- Develop system architecture for new and existing systems.
- Conduct trade studies and perform design research to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.
- Develop test plans, reports, and test cases based on requirements documentation.
- Develop system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and design documentation.
- Lead and conduct testing as applicable.
- Work in adherence to structured and defined development processes.
- Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements.
- Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of complex engineered systems and software.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- 5-7 years of industry experience, or 3-5 years if located in Round Rock, Oklahoma City, or Sacramento.
- U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher, or the ability to obtain such clearance.
- Experience in developing system requirements and architecture.
- Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry.
- Experience in aircraft systems; experience in unmanned aircraft is a plus.
