Job Description

Join our dynamic team in a hospital kitchen, where you'll play a crucial role in serving over 700 guests daily. Ideal candidates will have experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment and will be responsible for learning diets, assembling meal trays, breaking down patient meal carts, restocking, running courtesy trays, cleaning, and other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Learn and adhere to specific dietary requirements.
• Assemble meal trays efficiently and accurately.
• Break down patient meal carts in a timely manner.
• Restock supplies and ensure availability of necessary items.
• Run courtesy trays to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Essential Skills

• 1.5+ years of customer service or retail experience.
• 1.5+ years of experience in food preparation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and adapt to various situations.
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs and push 100lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a cook, food prep, chef, or in hospitality is advantageous.

Work Environment

Candidates will primarily work in the cafeteria, where appearance and hygiene are prioritized. The hospital culture requires no facial piercings, tattoos must be covered, and heavy fragrances are not permitted. The dress code includes black work pants, non-slip shoes, and hospital t-shirts, with a collared black or white shirt required on the first day. Shifts include 6-2:30 pm, 11-8 pm, and 6 am-8 pm, with availability needed for all, and every other weekend required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $15.10 - $15.10/hr.
