POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pharmacist Intern is an entry-level position and duties are designed to support meeting the departmental mission. Interns will develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely, efficiently, and effectively provide pharmaceutical care for neonatal through adult patients in accordance with all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Medicare/Medicaid standards and Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations. A pharmacist intern may perform any duty of a pharmacist under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacist intern may perform all of the duties of a pharmacy technician. The pharmacist intern is an integral part of the care team, assisting the pharmacists and other health care providers in delivering safe and high quality pharmaceutical care to all patients within the health system.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Two or more years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician is preferred. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet computer programs is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must be registered as a Pharmacist Intern with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Compensation:$21.00
