Concrete Worker

Concrete workers prepare sites, build forms, mix and pour concrete, and finish surfaces by smoothing, texturing, and sealing to create durable structures like roads, floors, and sidewalks. They ensure safety and quality by following blueprints and using various hand and power tools for tasks ranging from demolition to cleanup.

• Demolish old concrete and prepare work areas.
• Read blueprints to understand project layouts and material needs.
• Build and align forms (molds) for concrete, ensuring stability.
• Install rebar, anchor bolts, and expansion joints.
• Mix concrete to the correct consistency.
• Pour, spread, and level concrete into forms.
• Vibrate concrete to remove air bubbles and ensure density.
• Smooth, polish, and apply textures to surfaces.
• Apply sealants, waterproofing, and hardening agents.
• Monitor the concrete as it cures to achieve durability.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in concrete work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in reading construction drawings with at least 2 years of construction experience.
• Skill in using concrete vibrators and plate compactors.
• Skill in operating concrete finishing machines and joint-cutting machines.
• Ability to independently lay brick/block walls.

• Experience as a Lead or Supervisor is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to perform plastering work.

The role primarily involves working outdoors. Shifts start at 6am and end at 4:30pm or until the job is completed. Flexibility to work extended hours is appreciated.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sealy, TX.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
