Position Responsibilities may include:

Design, install, commission, test and support manufacturing process control systems and automation.

Develop and program various PLC, HMI, VFD and servo programs for several different advanced applications.
  • Diagnose issues with plant Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT and DeviceNet communication networks.
  • Develop SCADA system and program scripts to add/modify manufacturing equipment in the plant's data and enterprise management system and visualization tools.
  • Maintain and expand Virtual Machine servers and network architecture to support plant expansion and modernization.
  • Independently provide controls support to resolve manufacturing equipment failures, faults, and runtime issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and lost production.
  • Identify root causes of equipment issues and develop solutions to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Design and create electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Implement process improvements to increase the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment.
  • Document program changes and improvements for lessons learned and group communication.
  • Interface well with other teams to perform root cause analysis and develop solutions to production problems.
  • Work with production engineering and maintenance teams to lead equipment repairs and projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Analyze problems in a high-volume production atmosphere.
  • Adapt well to changing responsibilities and work environment.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing controls systems and automation
  • Proficiency working with a large variety of controls and automation components
  • Advanced debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced PLC, HMI, VFD, servo programming skills
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical practices and safety codes
  • Debug and troubleshoot with only occasional assistance
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully manage large projects
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills including prioritization skills
  • Excellent and effective communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people and in a team setting
  • Ability to mentor and further develop team member's skills and knowledge
  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Advanced PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo programming / project experience - Principal Engineer
  • Advanced SCADA, Ignition, Python Programming, SQL experience
  • 8+ years of project management experience
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), or other relevant Bachelors in Engineering degree with controls focus required.
  • Master's degree preferred
