Designer Drafter

Opportunity Overview:

We have a fantastic opening for a Designer Drafter in our Ogden, UT location. This role is primarily involved in preparing engineering documentation that is complete, accurate, and compatible with established standards. The Designer Drafter also Incorporates manufacturing and applicable design principles into design with basic guidance from engineers.

What your day-to-day looks like:

• Prepare drawings provided from engineer sketches.
• Incorporate Red-Line marks as provided from engineers.
• Create accurate "As-Built" drawings by gathering information from existing drawings, and equipment, using standard measuring tools.
• Self Check completeness and accuracy of work.
• Maintain drafting requests and drawings in document management system (Matrix).
• Incorporate appropriate detailed manufacturing data into design.
• Incorporate applicable design principles to establish missing information to complete drawings, including basic design calculations with the guidance of an engineer.
• Obtain and incorporate customer input (Maintenance, Operators, etc.) into design.
• Obtain a working knowledge of all job related software used by Plant.

What we'd like to see from you:

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years in industrial drafting from a vocational or technical school, specializing in mechanical, civil engineering or instrumentation

Experience/Requirements:

• Three (3) years of on the job drafting/design
• Autodesk software experience (AutoCAD/Inventor)
• Working knowledge of engineering practices
• Understanding of industry codes/standards in the electrical, chemical or mechanical industries
