Job Description
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical in maintaining an organized, smooth, and safe warehouse operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Support production areas with a two-hour lead time on materials needed for the production floor.
- Engage in walking, cleaning, material handling by hand, and other assigned duties for 50% of the day.
- Use a warehouse management system and RF Scanners in distribution.
- Simultaneously balance multiple processes to support overall system efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in storage processes and forklift operation.
- Verified forklift certifications and skills through references.
- Experience in order selection, quality control, inventory, loading, and RF scanning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in packaging, inventory control, picking, packing, pallet jack operation, shipping and receiving.
- Computer skills, labeling, order picking, load, unloading, walkie operation.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted.
- Thorough understanding of quality rules and safety standards.
This is a Contract position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.74 - $21.74/hr.
