Job Description
The Warehouse Worker supports daily operations in a porcelain products distribution facility. This role focuses on receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping fragile porcelain materials while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Success in this position requires careful handling of breakable products, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Safely receive, inspect, and unload incoming porcelain products, including tile, slabs, fixtures, and boxed materials.
- Accurately pick and stage customer orders using pick tickets or RF scanning systems.
- Carefully pack and palletize porcelain products to prevent damage during shipment.
- Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform visual inspections for defects, breakage, or damaged packaging and report issues promptly.
- Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled storage areas throughout the warehouse.
- Follow proper handling procedures for fragile and heavy materials to minimize damage and injury risk.
- Assist with regular inventory counts, stock rotation, and verification of inventory accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety standards, including OSHA and internal company guidelines.
- Communicate product issues, discrepancies, or shortages to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Support general warehouse operations and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to safely handle fragile and heavy products.
- Experience with packing, picking, shipping, receiving, and general material handling tasks.
- Ability to use RF scanners or similar scanning systems to process inventory and orders.
- Basic math and counting skills to verify quantities and complete inventory tasks.
- Ability to read pick tickets and follow written instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on quality to prevent damage and errors.
- Team-oriented mindset with a reliable work ethic and willingness to help where needed.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience, especially with building materials, tile, or stone, is a plus.
- Forklift or pallet jack experience preferred; certification is a plus.
- Experience with labeling, inventory control, and production support in a warehouse setting is beneficial.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse environment that is semi climate-controlled and focused on handling delicate porcelain materials. The setting involves regular movement around the facility, working with pallets, packaging materials, and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and potentially forklifts. The work requires careful handling of fragile products and adherence to safety procedures at all times.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
