Electrical Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Project Manager to join our team. This role involves managing electrical projects and ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders and oversee all aspects of project management from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, peers, supervisors, administrative staff, field craft workers, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and power companies.
- Execute and manage all terms of project contracts.
- Collaborate with Foreman, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Estimators to define a complete scope of work.
- Mentor and develop the project management team.
- Monitor and manage all project budgets and costs.
- Develop and manage accurate cost projections and evaluate project performance.
- Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
- Maintain regular communication with the project team, including Project Foreman, Project Manager, General Contractor, Architect/Engineer, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and manage communications with General Contractors or Construction Managers.
- Generate new work by developing and maintaining relationships with Owners and General Contractors.
- Review, analyze, and make recommendations on project change orders.
- Offer innovative ideas and solutions to Customers.
- Estimate, price, and negotiate change orders as required.
- Analyze drawings and specifications to confirm project requirements and opportunities for value engineering.
- Manage billings to maintain positive cash flow and coordinate with accounting personnel.
- Conduct procurement activities, including materials and equipment.
- Resolve customer concerns and grievances as needed.
- Ensure job site safety.
- Attend and conduct meetings as required.
- Travel to various project sites as necessary.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction and project management.
- Knowledge in electrical engineering and electrical construction.
- 1) Electrical/Mission Critical experience.
- 2) Experience with Bluebeam & Procore.
- 3) Construction management.
- Estimation and change order management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry.
- Data Center/Mission Critical experience preferred.
- Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is a plus but not required.
Work Environment
The work environment often includes exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Employees may occasionally encounter extreme conditions at construction sites, with noise levels that can be loud. This position involves work both indoors and outdoors, which may include adverse weather conditions. The role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with benefits including 6 paid holidays and 2 weeks of PTO.
