Service Technician

The Service Technician will inspect, perform diagnostic tests, troubleshoot, and repair various construction equipment in the field at multiple construction projects across Hampton Roads. This role requires assessing parts needed for repairs, communicating with the parts department, and the ability to move to other projects as necessary. The technician will spearhead complex repair projects requiring more than one technician, prepare parts lists, estimate labor time for repairing customer-owned equipment, and document and report the status of repairs and maintenance. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations and protocols is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose construction equipment in the field.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on equipment.
• Assess and communicate parts requirements to the parts department.
• Lead complex repair projects with multiple technicians.
• Prepare parts lists and estimate labor time for repairs.
• Document and report repair and maintenance status.

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in using hand tools and installation techniques.
• 5+ years of experience with heavy or construction-related equipment.
• Ability to repair multiple units simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

The required schedule is from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend work. The workday includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks. Technicians are expected to provide their own tools, while more specific tools will be supplied. The role involves fieldwork at various construction project sites, adhering to safety standards and protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
