Job Title: Interior Designer


Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven Interior Designer to join our rapidly growing architecture team in Richmond. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic studio that is expanding its local and national presence in the healthcare and higher education sectors. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver thoughtful, innovative design solutions. You’ll be expected to lead projects from concept through completion, while actively engaging with the local team to ensure seamless coordination and design excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design efforts on projects from programming through construction administration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, building strong relationships and understanding client needs.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, especially on larger, complex projects.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Richmond office’s portfolio and reputation in the healthcare and higher education markets.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • 5+ years of architectural experience, healthcare-specific is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in construction administration, interior design, and architectural design.
  • Ability to run projects from start to finish.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience in commercial design, particularly in healthcare, higher education, and multifamily sectors.
  • Experience in schematic design, design development, and space planning.

The position is based in a 7-person team in the Richmond office. The work environment promotes collaboration on all aspects of the design process with a diverse peer group and experienced mentors in a creative, team-centered setting. The company provides in-house licensure assistance with an AIA award-winning training platform and offers exam reimbursement and bonuses upon passing all exams.
