Job Title: 2nd shift Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assembler to join our team for the 2nd shift, working from 2pm-10:30pm. There is a possibility of mandatory overtime until 11:30pm and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble subcomponents and finished products, requiring basic levels of product and process knowledge.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to assemble and fit metal products.
  • Operate hand and power tools, as well as an overhead crane, to build units.
  • Participate in fast-paced production and assembly processes.
  • Lift 60lbs or more to fit products together.
  • Collaborate with a team member to fulfill daily product orders.
  • Engage in physical activities such as lifting, climbing, standing, walking, and extending arms for extended periods.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating an overhead crane.
  • Understanding of mechanical blueprints.
  • Capability to use a tape measure accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required within a certain time upon converting to a permanent position. The company offers a GED program.
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs or more independently.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean, organized, and spacious manufacturing floor with clearly labeled sections for materials and production. The first shift operates from 6AM to 2:30PM, with possible extended hours until 4:30PM. The second shift runs from 2:15PM to 10:45PM, Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday shifts from 12PM to 6PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
