Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

Under the direction of production supervision, the Production Assembler 2 is responsible for building the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost while meeting company production standards and customer specifications. This role involves working in alignment with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products following engineering documents, ensuring the highest quality and meeting production goals and customer specifications.
  • Operate computer systems to check schedules and update the manufacturing status of jobs.
  • Perform operator-based Go-No Go testing according to procedures.
  • Monitor the quality of parts used in the assembly process continually.
  • Assist in training other employees and addressing inquiries and problems.
  • Perform material handling activities as required.
  • Review assembly processes and methods, recommending changes to improve productivity and quality.
  • Interface with engineering to communicate information accurately.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, and reject tickets.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in assembly.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with assembly of electrical propulsion systems and drive train units for railcars and various industrial customers.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean and organized manufacturing facility with rotating stations for electrical assembly of PDUs. The collaborative environment involves working closely with quality technicians, assemblers, cell leads, supervisors, engineers, and quality technicians to ensure high standards of assembly progress.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
