Welder / Fabricator

We are looking for a motivated and experienced fitter/fabricator to join our company. As part of our team of professional fabricators, you will construct and manufacture structural steel parts using the D1.1 code. You will utilize blueprints from a tablet, determine material measurements, and perform layout, fit-up, and welding of structural steel.

• Fabricate and manufacture structural steel components.
• Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output.
• Perform flux-core welding.
• Produce code welds.

• Prior experience in fitting and welding, preferably in a shop environment.
• Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures such as Flux Core and GMAW.
• Ability to stand and crouch throughout the shift.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and measuring tapes.
• Knowledge of common welding symbols and weld fillet gauge.
• Use of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).

• Experience in handrail welding is a significant advantage.
• Experience in fabrication, blueprint reading, and fitting.
• Experience in flux core welding and gas core welding.
• Strong measuring skills.
• Capability as a structural and fabrication welder.

Work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment with about 18 colleagues. The team is committed to working until the job is finished, with overtime typically done an hour early or late, or on Saturday mornings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithfield, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
