We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Drafter who is responsible for producing detailed and accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering projects. This role interprets complex engineering designs, specifications, and technical data to generate high-fidelity models and comprehensive documentation packages. The Senior Drafter works closely with engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure drawing accuracy, adherence to standards, and alignment with project goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil.
  • Interpret complex engineering specifications, sketches, and design intent to produce accurate and high-quality drafting documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review and validate design intent and incorporate feedback into final deliverables.
  • Apply advanced drafting techniques including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and configuration management practices.
  • Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), part lists, and exploded views for assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Conduct drawing reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with internal standards, industry codes, and contractual requirements.
  • Support engineering change processes (ECPs, ECOs) and ensure revision control through PLM/document management systems.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior drafters, promoting adherence to best practices and encouraging professional development.
  • Interface with manufacturing or construction teams to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related issues throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX).
  • Demonstrated experience creating and modifying detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings across one or more disciplines: mechanical, structural, electrical, or electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensioning standards, design specifications, and engineering drawing practices.
  • Ability to execute layout drawings provided by engineers and convert design intent into complete, accurate documentation.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and maintaining revision control of engineering drawings.
  • Capable of performing design modifications based on feedback or engineering change requests (ECOs/ECPs).
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and design for manufacturability (DFM) or constructability.
  • Effective communication skills with internal teams and project stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
