Job Title: Production Planning Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, self-starting, and highly organized Production Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an ERP expert, responsible for overseeing efficient operations scheduling, production orders, inventory levels monitoring, ERP processes implementation, and maintaining data integrity within the ERP system. This role requires mastery of ERP system processes and transactions related to production, procurement, shipping, receiving, work orders, and MRP runs.
Responsibilities
- Plan purchases, inventory levels, sales orders, and work orders utilizing Microsoft 365 Business Central ERP.
- Manage inventory levels and address shortages promptly to avoid disruptions in workflows.
- Create and maintain ERP data integrity for all operational activities, ensuring proper documentation and posting.
- Develop and implement operational processes and workflows within the ERP system to ensure efficient use of materials and resources.
- Proactively identify operational risks and inefficiencies, proposing solutions to address them.
- Review production performance and update planning-related data to reflect operational capabilities and available capacity within the Microsoft 365 Business Central ERP.
- Work cross-functionally with all operational areas to ensure alignment.
- Liaise with relevant corporate personnel at all levels.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics.
- Proven experience as a materials/production planner or in a similar role.
- Strong foundation in Production or Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related academic fields.
- Excellent knowledge of production planning, inventory planning, and quality control principles.
- Mastery in working with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics to execute operational transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to understand production metrics and forecast future requirements to ensure efficient resource allocation and production scheduling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with materials planning, inventory management, aerospace, MRP, manufacturing, and materials management.
Work Environment
The role is based in a new production facility located in Stafford, VA, which was built just two years ago. Join a fast-growing team in a highly niche technology area specializing in loitering munition systems, including remote-controlled drones and warheads.
