Structural Welder

Location: Suffolk, VA (On‑Site)

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Mandatory)
• Type: Contract‑to‑Hire
• Pay Rate: $26–$32/hr

We are hiring multiple skilled Structural Welders to support fabrication and welding operations on a dry dock project. This is a great opportunity for welders experienced with flux core, stick, MIG, and structural fabrication who want steady overtime, consistent scheduling, and long‑term work.

What You’ll Do

• Perform structural welding on a dry dock following drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures using flux core, stick, and MIG processes.
• Operate forklifts to move materials and equipment.
• Use mechanical skills for rigging, layout, plasma cutting, and related tasks.
• Follow applicable codes, standards, and safety procedures.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy and quality.

Required Skills

• Proficient in flux core, stick, and MIG welding.
• Experience with structural welding and construction‑based fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings or basic layout instructions.
• Capable of working in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with TIG welding.
• Familiarity with rigging or heavy‑duty fabrication tasks.

Testing Requirement

Candidates will be required to complete:

• Flux core and stick weld test
• Pipe welding test
• Bend test for qualification

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
