Pipe Welder: $26-32/hour

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Pipe Welder to join our team in the dry dock. This role involves welding, fabricating, and assembling metal pipe systems and structural components in accordance with engineering drawings, safety standards, and production requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high‑quality pipe welding in a dry dock environment using FCAW, SMAW, and other required processes.
  • Review, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Fabricate and assemble pipe systems, structural components, and metal assemblies with precision and accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment to move pipe, plate, and welding supplies.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge for rigging, layout, plasma cutting, and general fabrication tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable welding codes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Inspect welds and completed workpieces for accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in flux-core (FCAW), stick (SMAW), and pipe welding.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes (must be able to MIG weld).
  • Strong understanding of welding principles, fabrication techniques, and construction processes.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute work based on blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Prior experience in fabrication or welding is required.

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Mandatory Saturdays: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Dry dock setting with active material handling and machinery operation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
