Pump Station Superintendent

We are seeking a Pump Station Superintendent with extensive knowledge of pump station operations and construction. The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in pump station construction, with the ability to work 30 feet underground in confined spaces. Experience in deep foundation, wastewater management, pump station builds, and rebar is highly desirable.


  • Plan, direct, and schedule preventive maintenance and repair activities for pumps, generators, and control panels.
  • Participate in capital improvement planning, attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, and provide technical guidance on complex issues.
  • Oversee staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets and expenditures.
  • Assign and prioritize work activities.
  • Estimate materials and costs for projects, evaluate resource needs, and ensure efficient deployment.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of pump station operations and construction.
  • Experience working underground in confined spaces.
  • Experience in deep foundation, wastewater management, pump station builds, and rebar.
  • Proficiency in construction, electrical, and civil construction.
  • Strong skills in operations management, project oversight, supervision, and administration.
  • Resource planning, quality assurance, customer service, leadership communication, quality control, mechanical, civil, and safety management.
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in pump station or utility operations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certifications in emergency management and traffic control (e.g., NIMS, VDOT) within one year of employment.

Work Environment

This position requires working on-site from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work environment may involve varying weather conditions.
