Job Title: Equipment Engineer
Job Description:
Equipment Engineer will design and modify equipment to manufacture and test polymer and porcelain insulators associated
with power distribution/transmission and substation systems. Main manufacturing equipment for polymer insulator is hydraulic molding press, hydraulic crimping machine, glass fiber rod sand blast cutting machine and hardware end fitting washing machine. Equipment Engineer will understand customer product requirements and develop, maintain and improve equipment to meet those requirements while also accountable for safety and environmental requirements. Equipment Engineer will communicate with the maintenance department and other engineers to solve problems and challenges across the organization.
- Design and develop new machinery, equipment, and production systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Plan and execute modifications to existing equipment to enhance functionality, safety, and reliability.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new and modified equipment.
- Create detailed design drawings and technical documentation using CAD software.
- Specify requirements for new equipment, including both in-house designs and vendor-supplied systems, and evaluate their feasibility and compliance with operational needs.
- Participate in activities related to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 requirements to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, process engineer and quality assurance, to optimize designs and ensure successful implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3-5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD) for mechanical design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, and machine components.
- Understanding and Application of Tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems.
- Experience with PLCs, automation, and control systems is a plus.
- Experience with 3D CAD (Inventor) is plus.
