Job Title: Loader / MillerJob Description

The role involves assisting in the monitoring and inspection of product, equipment, and processing steps from raw ingredients to finished goods. This includes ensuring adherence to quality standards and assisting with product transfers.

Responsibilities
  • Identify different varieties of wheat and produce products to customer specifications during shifts.
  • Observe equipment operations to detect and correct malfunctions.
  • Assist with resolving issues in mills and maintaining milling equipment.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on sifters, purifiers, and other milling equipment.
  • Examine products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Clean work areas and equipment, including lubricating equipment.
  • Confirm product mix and weights meet customer specifications.
  • Transfer finished products to load out on schedule, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on cleaning house equipment and repair mill equipment, focusing on sifters and purifiers.
  • Ensure ingredient feeders are full and wheat flow to mill is uninterrupted unless directed otherwise.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis accurately and on time, recording results and verifying accuracy.
  • Comply with test procedures and sample handling protocols.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Thorough knowledge of mill equipment and basic maintenance needs.
  • Knowledge of different wheat varieties, grain science, and analytical procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production problems.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with wheat products without sensitivity issues.
  • Teamwork skills to contribute to plant success.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in general labor, production, loading, unloading, and machine operation.
  • Familiarity with forklifts, loaders, and pallet jacks.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ability to conduct Fall Protection training and maintain food safety regulations.

Work Environment

The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in a physical, non-climate controlled setting. The position follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, cycling through four days on and four days off.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Winchester, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.23 - $24.46/hr.
