Job Title: Procurement ManagerJob Description

The Procurement Manager will lead the procurement function, ensuring best practices in materials planning and procurement. This role involves managing a small team and optimizing systems to support the production environment in a rapidly growing company specializing in machined and assembled parts for the Aerospace, Defense, and Space industries.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage all aspects of the procurement of materials and supplies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to assure departmental effectiveness and compliance.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with key vendors to drive long-term value.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve acceptable pricing and terms.
  • Maintain the vendor evaluation program for monitoring on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and motivate department staff, managing schedules and workflow.
  • Assign duties and monitor the quality of work of the team, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Possess technical understanding of Aerospace Raw Materials, Fasteners, and Finish processes.
  • Issue purchase orders and expedite materials.
  • Resolve discrepancies in supply chain performance.
  • Support estimating activities in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
  • Proven leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to extract critical information from drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in an ERP system for executing daily tasks.
  • Professional approach to working with vendors and suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and delivery schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MRP principles and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts.
  • Experience acquiring Aerospace metal parts is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires the candidate to be onsite, primarily involving computer work. No personal protective equipment (PPE) or medical certifications are required. The role may involve participating in cycle counts or coordinating with those on the floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
