Job Title: Facilities / Lab Engineer
Job Description

The Facilities / Lab Engineer is a core member of the Facility and Equipment Operations (FAC) team, playing a vital role in supporting day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects that ensure the success of the business. This position involves assisting with ongoing projects, supporting internal and external customers, and consistently improving the FAC team. The engineer will perform all functions in compliance with Company Policies and Quality Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee maintenance of equipment records system to support GMP compliant cleanrooms and laboratories.
  • Revise equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Schedule equipment service calls and regular calibrations performed by external service providers.
  • Assist, lead, and drive cleanroom maintenance programs in collaboration with internal customers.
  • Assist, lead, and drive FAC department mini projects in accordance with stakeholders and desired outcomes.
  • Oversee and verify that external service providers perform maintenance in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support site service activities and requests by providing service, documenting actions, and updating team members.
  • Interface with manufacturing, QC, and logistics staff to schedule and perform equipment maintenance.
  • Perform equipment relocations and Final Acceptance Test (FAT) of more complicated equipment.
  • Perform equipment installations, required calibrations, and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, track, and document emergent equipment issues to prevent delays in production.
  • Perform equipment repairs or facilitate repair by an external service provider.
  • Write or revise equipment and facilities qualification documents (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Perform or oversee execution of equipment and facilities qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Author QMS investigations and design CAPA plans, implementing them as needed.
  • Track, trend, and analyze department metrics and KPIs to propose continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct sourcing, onboarding, and commissioning of equipment in collaboration with the head of Facilities and departmental SMEs.
  • Support off-hours tasks, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Assist in training and oversight of Maintenance and Validation Technician I & II team members.
  • Be on call after hours to respond to equipment monitoring system alarms.
  • Cross-train with all production and servicing platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Cleanroom experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • 5+ years of cGMP facility or equipment lifecycle management experience required.
  • 2 years of equipment validation experience preferred.
  • Experience with working on projects and meeting deadlines for team success.
  • Experience with creating and updating product build work instructions (WI).
  • NPI experience is a plus.
  • Associate degree (relevant experience can be applied in lieu of education).
  • CMRP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with CAPA and Change Control systems and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
Work Environment

The work environment includes laboratory and facilities maintenance. The role may require off-hours support, including evenings and weekends, and involves being on call after hours to respond to equipment monitoring system alarms. The job may also involve lifting equipment weighing up to 55 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Bothell, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
