The Shop & Field Service Technician is responsible for the mechanical assembly, testing, repair, and service of industrial valve, actuator, pump, and heat trace systems—both in-house and at customer locations. This role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and professionalism in customer-facing environments. Tasks include diagnostics, maintenance, and regulatory documentation, with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and reliability. This role provides on-site support for the installation, diagnostics, and repair of industrial systems. Technicians work directly with customers to assess problems, deliver solutions, and ensure high-quality service while representing the company professionally in the field. Service work may take place in confined spaces, outdoors, or around industrial equipment and hazardous materials, requiring proper PPE. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation to support emergency repairs and may involve occasional overnight travel.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical assembly, testing, repair, and service of industrial systems, both in-house and at customer sites.
- Conduct diagnostics, maintenance, and ensure adherence to regulatory documentation.
- Provide on-site support for installation, diagnostics, and repair of industrial systems.
- Work directly with customers to identify issues, deliver solutions, and ensure high-quality service.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency repairs and occasional overnight travel.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace following all safety protocols and completing required documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical systems.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in shop and field settings.
- Effective communicator with a professional customer-facing demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with digital tools and ERP systems.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and working in challenging environments.
- Awareness of safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to disassemble, inspect, replace components, reassemble systems, and verify performance.
- Familiarity with precision tools to meet equipment tolerances.
- Guidance by technical drawings, schematics, pump curves, and OEM manuals.
- Willingness to travel (primarily day trips, occasional overnights) and work extended hours as needed.

Work EnvironmentWork hours are from 7am-4pm, Monday to Friday, in a manufacturing environment with a small production team located in Everett, WA. Some travel is required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
