Job Title: Inspection Technician

Job Description

The Inspection Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining hollow cutting machinery to produce precision tubes and components. This role includes tasks such as fine detail work, data entry, paperwork, and reading and learning new standard operating procedures (SOPs). It requires a keen attention to detail, adherence to production specifications, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and calibrate hollow cutting machines and related equipment.
  • Operate machinery to cut, shape, and finish hollow tubes according to specifications.
  • Select and measure raw materials accurately using precision tools like micrometers and calipers to verify tolerances and dimensions.
  • Inspect workpieces during and after processing for defects or deviations.
  • Document production data and maintain compliance with quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues promptly.
  • Work closely with team members to meet production goals.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Essential Skills

  • Production and general labor experience.
  • Proficiency in machine operation.
  • Familiarity with safety maintenance practices.
  • Experience with hand tools and machine tooling, especially in cutting and working with titanium.
  • Ability to inspect products for quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in machine operation or metal fabrication is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic computer and math skills; ability to pass a math-oriented test.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing environment, operating on a swing shift from 4:20 PM to 2:50 AM, with a paid 20-minute lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kennewick, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.39 - $23.14/hr.
