We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who will be a key player in maintaining our general ledger and financial reporting processes. The role involves preparing journal entries, managing the general ledger, and ensuring accurate financial statement preparation. You will be instrumental in cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable support, fixed asset management, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper account coding.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank, AP/AR, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support internal reporting packages for management and ownership.
- Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Analyze standard costs, variances, and production performance.
- Review labor and overhead allocations to ensure accurate costing.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy processes.
- Work with operations leadership to improve cost visibility and reporting.
- Assist with AP and AR oversight, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Review vendor invoices for proper coding and approvals.
- Support collections and customer billing processes as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Track capital projects, asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
- Lead and support month-end close processes and timelines.
- Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Assist with sales/use tax reporting, excise tax, and other compliance needs.
- Support development and enforcement of internal controls and financial procedures.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to accounting and reporting processes.
- Support ERP system reporting, data integrity, and process improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to operations and finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Accounting Degree
- Experience in the Manufacturing Industry
This position is onsite with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The accounting department enjoys a corporate office environment adjacent to production facilities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty Lake, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.26/hr.
