Job Title: Testing Technician


Job Description

This position is part of the Quality Assurance (QA) team, dedicated to ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of software products through meticulous inspection and testing. The QA Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining test plans and test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute manual and automated test cases based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, breaks, and failures using defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to understand features and technical implementation.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile development team.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed feedback to improve product quality.
  • Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in QA processes and tools.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with HALT/HASS testing.
  • Proficiency in test procedure development.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or Python.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the maritime industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically requires 2–4 years of relevant QA/testing experience, or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience.

Work Environment

The work environment will vary, encompassing both lab and office settings.
