Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary:
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to drive strategic insights that directly influence player engagement and marketing effectiveness within the gaming industry. You will serve as a critical analytical partner to marketing and engineering teams, transforming complex data into actionable recommendations that shape lifecycle marketing campaigns. Your work will directly impact how players experience and engage with one of the most recognized gaming titles in the world. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills to translate data findings into clear narratives that inform executive decision-making. You will be responsible for building and maintaining analytical frameworks, conducting rigorous A/B testing analysis, and identifying the key drivers of player monetization, engagement, and retention. Working in a collaborative environment, you will help stakeholders understand campaign performance within the broader game ecosystem while providing clear prioritization on optimization opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform data exploration, profiling, and proof-of-concept table creation to assist engineering partners in building and improving the production data environment
  • Maintain and improve dashboards that enable stakeholders to understand the impact of specific campaigns as well as broader player lifecycle messaging impact
  • Build and maintain causal inference frameworks to measure campaign effectiveness
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on how to best optimize campaigns for player engagement, retention, and post-sale monetization with clear prioritization of next steps and expected impact
  • Synthesize insight narratives by turning analyses into clear, decision-ready narratives that connect activity to gaming business outcomes
  • Produce executive-ready communication including deck-ready visuals, annotated dashboards, and short written summaries tailored to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Create shared understanding of the funnel by helping stakeholders understand how performance fits into the broader game ecosystem
  • Conduct analysis to identify statistically significant impact from campaigns and provide recommendations for tests to add to the roadmap
  • Synthesize campaign results into recommendations for stakeholders, clearly communicating assumptions, limitations, and confidence in results
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and engineering stakeholders to define success metrics, measurement plans, and instrumentation needs for campaigns and lifecycle initiatives
  • Deliver clear, consistent, and concise communication and presentations to varied stakeholders including data engineers, product managers, and marketing partners
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of overall experience in data science or data analytics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL and Python
  • Minimum 5 years of experience presenting data and insights to stakeholders
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, including data profiling, table creation, and marketing analytics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with dashboarding tools
  • Previous experience as a data scientist working on marketing campaigns in the gaming industry is highly preferred
  • Experience building and maintaining causal inference frameworks or pipelines is a significant advantage
  • Experience with marketing tools such as Braze, Salesforce, or CleverTap is preferred
  • Familiarity with SparkSQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer is a bonus
  • Experience with PySpark is a bonus
  • Interest in games with experience in the gaming industry preferred
  • Must be local to the Seattle area and able to work hybrid from Redmond, WA three days per week
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation
  • Expertise in presenting data and insights to stakeholders with clarity and impact
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining dashboards for data visualization
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights, implications, and recommendations tailored to the audience
  • Strong visual communication skills with ability to choose appropriate chart types, highlight drivers, and quantify impact
Additional Details:
  • Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid: 3 days/week Onsite)
  • Duration: 4 months
  • Pay Range*: $71.50 - $81 per hour
  • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
  • Job Status: Non-Exempt
