Job Description
The Production Controller is responsible for the tracking and coordination of manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently, and that products are made on time. This position also works with the production team to ensure that safety regulations and quality standards are met. This role requires knowledge of many aspects of aerospace production, including traceability, demand planning, broad aerospace assembly, and handling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to oversee daily production operations, including scheduling, planning, and organizing of work in progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG).
- Help improve production scheduling tools and WIP tracking.
- Monitor, track, report, and move parts as required through the production flow to ensure timely delivery to the next production location.
- Ensure parts are handled and protected properly.
- Collaborate with the enterprise planning team to resolve immediate floor shortages on work orders and floor stock inventory as required.
- Assist production leadership and project teams with action item updates as needed.
- Highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints to management.
Essential Skills
- 1-2+ years of experience in production control within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong computer skills, familiar with SAP ERP/MES (or any MRP system) and the full suite of MS Office products.
- Inventory experience ideally within aerospace, military, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in production control in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in aerospace, military, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments.
- Go-getter mentality with the ability to adapt to new systems and environments.
Work Environment
We are looking for two people on nights and one on days. One position for back half days, Wednesday to Saturday from 6 am to 4:30 pm, one for back half nights, Wednesday to Saturday from 5 pm to 3:30 am, and one for nights, Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 1:30 am (flexibility available for this schedule). Training for the first three weeks is typically during the day, so candidates must be comfortable with that, regardless of the schedule they receive. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, where you will work with leaders in multiple technology areas. You will be expected to maintain high standards and constantly seek ways to improve operations, reduce downtime, and minimize lead time for builds and tests.
