Job Description
The Production Control Planner III plays a crucial role in tracking and coordinating manufacturing operations to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with the production team to meet safety regulations and quality standards, requiring a thorough understanding of aerospace production, including traceability, demand planning, complex BOM assembly, and handling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to oversee daily production operations, including scheduling, planning, and organizing work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG).
- Enhance production scheduling tools and WIP tracking for improved efficiency.
- Monitor, track, report, and facilitate the movement of parts through the production flow to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure parts are handled and protected properly throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with the enterprise planning team to resolve immediate floor shortages on work orders and floor stock inventory.
- Assist production leadership and project teams with updates on action items.
- Identify and communicate needs, deliverables, and constraints to management as required.
- Support new team members and collaborate closely with leads and managers on execution plans.
- Assess progress in real-time, adapt quickly, and actively drive change.
Essential Skills
- 2-4+ years of experience in production control within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in planning, ERP, MRP, MES, SAP, Excel, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to solve complex issues in high-pressure environments.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems and strong problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 4+ years of experience in production control in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong computer skills, familiar with SAP ERP/MES or any MRP system, and the full suite of MS Office products.
- Experience in aerospace, military, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments.
- SQL and Tableau experience.
- Inventory management experience.
Work Environment
The position is onsite in Redmond with various shift options available, including front half nights and back half nights. Candidates should be comfortable working in a warehouse setting and must be adaptable to the fast-paced environment typical of a tech startup. Training for the first 3 weeks is typically during the day, regardless of the schedule assigned. The role requires a go-getter mentality, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate without relying heavily on systems. Candidates must be prepared to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining an internal sense of timing.
