Job Title: Production Control Planner
Job Description
The Production Control Planner is responsible for tracking and coordinating manufacturing operations to ensure products are made on time and production runs smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will collaborate with the production team to ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, requiring extensive knowledge of aerospace production, including traceability, demand planning, broad aerospace assembly, and handling requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to oversee daily production operations, including scheduling, planning, and organizing work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods (FG).
- Improve production scheduling tools and WIP tracking.
- Monitor, track, report, and move parts through the production flow to ensure timely delivery to the next production location.
- Ensure parts are handled and protected properly.
- Collaborate with the enterprise planning team to resolve immediate floor shortages on work orders and floor stock inventory as needed.
- Assist production leadership and project teams with action item updates.
- Highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints to management as required.
Essential Skills
- 1-2+ years of experience in Production Control within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in SAP ERP/MES (or any MRP system) and the full suite of MS Office products.
- Experience in inventory management, ideally within aerospace, military, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Adaptability to new systems and environments in a high-pressure, chaotic environment typical of a tech startup.
- Understanding of order operations and timely assembly processes, similar to cooking.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Production Control in a manufacturing setting.
Work Environment
This position offers multiple shifts: Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm to 3:30am, Sunday to Wednesday from 5pm to 3:30am, and Monday to Friday from 5pm to 1:30am. Training for the first three weeks typically occurs during the day, regardless of the final schedule. The role involves a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment with high standards, requiring constant improvement of operations, reduction of downtime, and lead time reduction of builds and tests.
