Job Title: Lab Technician/Support Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Lab Technician to support our optical systems and satellite manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical knowledge, with experience in laboratory settings and maintenance of high-precision equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in the calibration and testing of optical systems and satellite components.
• Conduct quality control inspections and document test results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot optical testing setups and associated hardware.
• Ensure compliance with ESD and cleanroom protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Participate in training programs and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Associate degree in Optical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for high precision optical products.
• Familiarity with optical testing methods and equipment, such as interferometers, power meters, and fiber optic architecture.
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and laboratory equipment.
• Strong understanding of ESD control measures and cleanroom standards (semiconductor background could apply).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
