Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional mechanical engineer drafter who possesses outstanding technical and analytical skills coupled with a proven ability to deliver results swiftly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing both 3D and 2D mechanical designs and related analyses specifically for flight-critical avionics systems. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering that is adaptable to both prototype and production-level designs.


Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs and analyses for flight-critical avionics systems.
  • Create detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Integrate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics.
  • Improve manufacturing processes through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Support both development and production programs.
  • Handle and track systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines.
  • Engage in technical writing, including creating test plans and work instructions.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience from internships or college organizations.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing processes including assembly and test methods.
  • Familiarity with QTP/ATP, functional testing, and environmental testing.
  • Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems such as Lean, 5S, Six Sigma.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite in Redmond. The shift includes one back half night and two back half days. The role involves engaging in building a satellite constellation, offering a dynamic and innovative work environment.


Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, Washington.
