Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer


Job Description

We're looking for an outstanding Manufacturing Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for flight-critical avionics systems. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production-level designs.


Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs for flight-critical avionics systems.
  • Perform analysis related to mechanical designs.
  • Integrate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Create comprehensive work instructions and technical documentation.
  • Support both development and production programs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and apply lean manufacturing principles.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience with integrating, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems.
  • 1+ year experience with Computer Aided Design tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience from internships or college organizations.
  • Technical writing experience, including work instructions and test plans.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing processes and continuous material flow systems.
  • Familiarity with QTP/ATP, functional testing, and environmental testing.
  • Formal training or certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Kirkland. Work schedule options include two positions for back half days, one for front half days, one for back half nights, and one for front half nights. The role involves collaboration in a dynamic environment focused on building a satellite constellation.
