Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
This role supports production operations by preparing, masking, sanding, and handling parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work with a team to get parts ready for painting, follow work orders accurately, and maintain high quality standards while performing repetitive tasks on your feet for most of the shift.
Responsibilities
- Stand and work on your feet for 6–8 hours per shift while performing repetitive production tasks.
- Carefully handle all parts at all times, avoiding tossing, throwing, or dropping items, and consistently follow quality expectations.
- Tape, mask, and sand parts to prepare them for painting according to work orders and production requirements.
- Use basic math skills to perform measurements, counts, and other calculations needed in the work environment.
- Follow detailed work orders and instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Inspect parts visually and by touch to identify defects or issues before and after preparation for painting.
- Use hand tools safely and correctly for masking, sanding, and other production tasks.
- Work as a racker or paint assistant, including sanding products before painting and organizing parts as needed.
- Collaborate closely with team members, communicate clearly in a noisy environment, and support a smooth production flow.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety guidelines related to fumes, noise, and equipment.
Essential Skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (6–8 hours) and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to protect high-value parts and meet strict quality standards.
- Ability to perform basic math operations and apply them in the work environment.
- Experience in production, general labor, or similar hands-on roles.
- Ability to read and follow work orders accurately.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to work closely with others on the production floor.
- Comfort working in an environment with ongoing machine noise and paint or chemical fumes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with masking, sanding, or paint preparation in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Background as a racker or paint assistant, including sanding products before painting.
- Experience with inspection of parts for quality and defects.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-value components with care and precision.
- Comfort working in a repetitive, fast-paced production environment.
Why Work Here?
Join a production team where your attention to detail and reliability directly contribute to high-quality finished products. You will work in a collaborative environment that values clear communication, teamwork, and safety. The set schedule with 4 ten-hour shifts provides predictable hours, and you will gain hands-on experience in a specialized production and paint-preparation setting, building skills that are valuable in manufacturing and industrial operations.
Work Environment
- This position follows a 4x10 schedule with shifts on Friday and Monday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Work takes place in a production facility with paint booths and open chemical bins nearby, so there are noticeable paint and chemical fumes in masking and packing areas. Machines run throughout the day, creating a consistently noisy environment where team members may need to speak loudly to communicate. You will stand for 6–8 hours per shift and perform repetitive tasks. The dress code allows casual attire, but sleeveless shirts and tank tops are not permitted, and closed‑toe shoes are required. Construction‑style footwear is preferred for those working in racking, though it is not mandatory. The buildings are not insulated, so temperatures can vary and you should dress appropriately for changing conditions.
