Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. This role is pivotal in applying innovative solutions and advanced technologies to solve complex manufacturing and engineering challenges at both the system and component levels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless transition from development to production, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and reliability.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for production-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution and implementing long-term corrective actions.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC).
  • Create and update shop orders, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to support continuous production flow.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and test engineering teams to support both development and production programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electronic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with automated manufacturing processes and test methods at component, subsystem, and system levels
  • Knowledge of QTP/ATP, functional testing, and environmental testing (thermal, acoustic, vibration)
  • Strong experience in electrical system design, metrology, and mechanical failure analysis
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills for documentation such as test plans, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in Kirkland. The work schedule includes options for front half days, back half days, front half nights, and back half nights, allowing for flexibility in shift selection
