Job Title: Welder and FabricatorJob Description

Join our team as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will be responsible for welding custom stainless steel tanks of various sizes and shapes. You will excel in stainless steel welding, with experience in high-cosmetic products. This role requires proficiency in full layout and blueprint reading, with a balanced focus on both MIG and TIG welding processes. You will also engage in basic fabrication tasks, such as cutting pipes and using equipment like drill presses and band saws, with occasional polishing of welds.

Responsibilities
  • Setup and operate welding equipment, adjusting voltage, amperage, and gas flow.
  • Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, making necessary repairs.
  • Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet aesthetic requirements.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform welding from all positions, including in tight spots and confined spaces.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in MIG welding; experience with TIG welding is a plus.
  • 2+ years of welding experience, with emphasis on stainless steel fabrication.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with various types and grades of stainless steel.
  • Physical ability to crawl, crouch, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Completion of a vocational welding program or trade school is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to producing high-quality, cosmetic welds.
  • Prior fabrication experience, including cutting and using equipment like drill press, shear, and band saw.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

Work in a workshop environment where custom stainless steel tanks are crafted for various industries, including fuel, food & water processing, and alcohol fermentation. While the shop maintains cleanliness, expect some metal dust. Collaborate with a team of 15-20 professionals on the production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
