Job Description
The Laboratory Pre-Analytical Services Associate V plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling and processing of lab specimens. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of specimen handling, from receipt to documentation, and supporting laboratory staff with various routine tasks.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and store incoming lab specimens with accuracy.
- Ensure proper labeling, preservation, and documentation of specimens.
- Enter patient requisitions and verify their accuracy.
- Record patient demographics, consent forms, insurance details, and collection timestamps.
- Order lab tests based on submitted requests.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing records.
- Assist lab staff with routine tasks to maintain workflow.
- Take inventory, restock supplies, and place orders as directed.
- Proficiency in data entry and lab support.
- High School Diploma required.
- 0-1 year of experience in laboratory science or healthcare industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of specimen processing, specimen collection, accessioning, specimen handling, inventory, and histology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic data analysis and documentation skills.
The role operates in a fast-paced environment, requiring efficiency and attention to detail to maintain the workflow of the laboratory.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.50/hr.
