Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer


Job Description

A rapidly growing Geotechnical and Material Testing firm is looking to add a Geotechnical Engineer to their expanding team to meet rising demands in the area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of Geotechnical Engineering experience and be a licensed EIT with 1-2 years remaining to obtain a professional engineering license in Washington. A PE license in Washington or Idaho is preferred. The candidate should have experience with test and bore pits and generating geotechnical reports.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare geotechnical proposals and associated fee estimates.
  • Perform and/or direct subsurface exploration (via drilling and/or test pit methodology) and evaluate ground conditions to understand their impact on design and construction.
  • Conduct geotechnical design and analysis, including shallow and deep foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, settlement analysis, and seismic assessments.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering evaluations and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Lead business development and marketing efforts.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Washington or Idaho or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
  • Preferably three or more years of experience in geotechnical engineering as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Project management experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with clients and developing new business.
  • Experience leading and developing junior engineering staff.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Lpile, and Slide is a plus.

Work Environment

Working out of the Spokane Valley office or Richland with occasional site visits. The position can also be based out of any of the Idaho offices (Hayden, Meridian, Lewiston).
