Job Title: Materials and Process Engineer
Job Description
Join our innovative global research and development team as a Materials and Process Engineer, where we create and implement cutting-edge technologies that drive the future of aerospace. Our team, based in the Puget Sound area, supports design, development, production programs, and in-service solutions for both commercial and defense aircraft, including models such as 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, B1B, and P-8. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across various business units and phases of aircraft production, fostering growth and a wide network within the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop NDE procedures to support airline customer maintenance inspections.
- Design NDE reference standards for inspection procedures.
- Develop engineering specifications and other documents to meet customer needs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for potential business applications.
- Assist in the development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
- Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Utilize project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research design and qualification, work procedures, and labs and offices.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- At least 1 year of engineering experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA and Solidworks.
- Experience with NDI systems like ultrasonics and eddy current.
- Experience in the aviation and/or aerospace industry.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with various computing systems.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously across various geographical locations.
- Knowledge of materials science with metals and/or composites.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tukwila, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
