Job Title: PLC Technician
Job Description
Join a growing company in the food packaging industry as a PLC Technician. In this role, you will be dispatched to local food packaging facilities to install, service, repair, or maintain systems, products, or equipment. Your dedication to providing excellent customer service will maximize customer satisfaction. Expect to travel up to 80% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Orphea to control electrical/electronic systems.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Wire systems from drawings and schematics.
- Set up weigh systems and perform calibrations.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.
- Set up computers and servers.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Investigate complaints, conduct tests, and resolve problems.
- Order and gather components/parts and complete installations.
- Communicate effectively with clients onsite daily.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
- Assemble, align, and install equipment.
- Use voltmeter and basic hand tools.
- Help lead startups, including mechanical and electrical aspects, and train clients on machinery operation and maintenance.
- Conduct audits and inspections during slow times.
- Clean and winterize equipment at the end of some harvest seasons.
Essential Skills
- Technical degree, certification, or a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical work or electronics repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
- Computer/server setup, repair, and operation.
- Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics.
- High and low voltage electrical knowledge with troubleshooting, diagnosis, and installation.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving (MVR) record, and ability to obtain a passport.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience repairing mechanical machinery or mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and testing, such as PLC debugging, automation, VFDs.
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics.
- Control Systems Networking.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Software diagnostics.
- Customer service or service tech experience.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong VFD and PLC experience.
- Knowledgeable about safety and best sanitary practices.

Work Environment
The position is based out of Yakima and supports the OR, ID, and WA areas, with extensive travel required. You will be home every weekend but should expect to be on the road most of the time. Once fully trained, you will work independently and be dispatched directly to job sites. The scheduled shift is from 6 am to 2:30 pm, but flexibility is essential as shifts may change daily. You will be on call to address urgent issues as they arise.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
