West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center (West Van), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Forklift Operator, to work at our Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA.

Pay range is $27-$29/HR DOE

Schedule is Monday - Friday

Shift is 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM with some overtime as needed.

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Qualified candidates must have Forklift operating experience.
  • REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate Forklift.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate forklift or other equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
  • Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up.
  • Spotting Trucks.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.
  • Working outside in all weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Ability to perform a physically demanding job at times with no helpers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth promotes the company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening & criminal background check.

Washington Wage range for this position is $27.00-$29.00/HR
