Job Description
Join a leading power delivery contractor as a Project Manager, where you will play a crucial role in strengthening the nation’s power grid. You will manage complex projects ranging from $500K to $10M, ensuring successful outcomes from proposal to completion, with a strong focus on safety and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage a phase of a large complex project or multiple medium-sized projects.
- Oversee projects from the initial proposal to successful completion, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Emphasize safety performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Own financials, schedule, resources, procurement, materials, budgets, change orders, contracts, and subcontractors.
- Travel to job sites 1-2 weeks per month for on-site management.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, renewables (battery, wind, solar), power generation, substations, or large industrial builds.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with job cost tracking and estimating software.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction degree with internship or 1+ years of field engineering/APM experience in industrial construction, renewables, data centers, substations, transmission, or distribution.
- Experience from a GC or EPC is highly preferred.
- Ability to travel and commit to long-term onsite project assignments.
Work Environment
The role involves working on-site for a new substation build 1-2 weeks per month, with travel required to project sites in TX, OH, and OK. When not traveling, work from home is supported. Projects typically last 6-9 months and involve high voltage tied into data centers. The company self-performs electrical and foundation work, managing all materials outside of transformers and circuits. The project team includes APM, CM, Safety, and Superintendents full-time on site, with support from a regional manager. Benefits include a truck allowance or vehicle provision, cell phone allowance, provided equipment, a prorated bonus, vacation time, holidays, and a 5% 401k match.
