Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Engineer to monitor and improve quality performance by analyzing metrics, identifying trends, and addressing repeating issues or causes of poor quality or rework. The role involves preparing detailed reports, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and developing or updating standards and procedures to enhance quality assurance processes.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality performance through metrics and trends.
  • Prepare and present reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Ensure processes adhere to established quality standards.
  • Develop new standards and update existing ones.
  • Create and provide input into work instructions and procedures.
  • Handle customer complaints efficiently.
  • Conduct CAPA RCA investigations to support resolutions and verify effectiveness.
  • Review supplier scorecards and monitor quality of workmanship.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to address supplier issues and issue corrective actions for nonconformances.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop and implement quality controls and improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production quality issues.
  • Review codes, specifications, and processes.
  • Adhere to ISO and quality procedures.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related program is required.
  • A combination of an Associate degree with proven work experience in the metal fabrication industry and hands-on operation in multiple fabrication processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in quality engineering and quality assurance.
  • Experience with PPAP and sheet metal processes.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality management.

Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with a focus on quality controls and improvements. The role involves working closely with various departments, including Purchasing and Manufacturing, to address quality issues and ensure compliance with ISO procedures. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards are paramount.

This is a Permanent position based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
