Job Description
The Drafter will primarily engage in computer-based work, focusing on managing and translating client-provided CAD drawings into shop detail drawings. This role involves working on both solo projects and collaborative efforts with varying team sizes, depending on project scale. The position exclusively involves 2D drafting, with no 3D or product design responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and translate data from client CAD drawings into shop detail drawings.
- Collaborate with team members ranging from one to nine individuals, based on project size.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Excel to complete drafting tasks and data manipulation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Interface with the shop environment to ensure accuracy and practicality of drawings.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with at least 1 year of experience.
- Ability to read and interpret flat prints/blueprints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Excel, including pivot tables and data manipulation.
- Mechanical inclination, such as experience in car repair, home improvements, or shop work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in CAD/drafting.
- 3+ years of AutoCAD experience preferred.
- 2+ years of drafting experience in a piping setting preferred.
- Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or welding is advantageous.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and involves joining a team of 10 drafters and checkers within a growing company. The role requires interfacing with a loud and noisy shop environment. All work is conducted on computers, emphasizing 2D drafting tasks, and the use of AutoCAD and Excel.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kaukauna, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
