Job Title: Applications Engineer
Job Description
This position is responsible for accurately targeting and defining product design requirements and specifications and developing designs to meet customer and internal production needs. The Applications Engineer will prepare costing, proposals, and bid packages for all projects within defined market segments, while providing technical support to the Regional Sales Manager. This role focuses on serving as a liaison between engineering and sales, supporting the sales team with quotes, specifications, pricing, strategy, and bid documentation, as well as aiding in lead generation and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Size and develop cost-effective process solutions to meet customer needs.
- Prepare technical bids and proposals associated with products in the portfolio.
- Participate in design and process risk reviews for proposed solutions.
- Communicate with Regional Sales Manager, external sales representatives, internal engineering departments, engineering consultants, and customers.
- Ensure all designs conform to contract specifications and drawings.
- Write up orders, clearly identifying what was sold and resolving conflicts regarding price, scope, and delivery schedule.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to review PID/PFD drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with customers.
- Experience in lead generation and sales.
- Strong technical and writing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering or related is required.
- 2-5 years' experience as an Applications Engineer or in a related field.
- Strong process engineering experience and knowledge of wastewater treatment.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Work Environment
The role operates in a new innovation center alongside engineers, offering a collaborative environment with freedom to explore ideas. The position reports to the Applications Engineering Manager and works a standard 40-hour week from 8am to 5pm.
