The role of the Production Assistant is to perform various production activities to support the operations of the company. This position requires the use of mechanical aptitude to operate shop equipment and small tools for prototype or low-volume production parts in CNC. The Production Assistant may assist with 3D printing, casting, and finishing, working closely with department supervisors and leads to learn the necessary skills for success in the prototyping industry.
Responsibilities- Interpret and understand prints, specification sheets, and 3D files.
- Operate manual or powered machinery in the CNC production process.
- Assist with the basic operations of 3D printers.
- Participate in basic casting activities.
- Perform basic post-processing and finishing techniques on completed parts.
- Conduct visual inspections of parts according to specifications.
- Track production progress using the ERP system.
- Help maintain inventory of raw materials.
- Assist with cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines, tools, and workstations.
- Perform routine cleaning of the shop, including sweeping and trash removal.
- Mechanical aptitude for operating shop equipment and tools.
- Ability to interpret and understand technical documents and 3D files.
- Basic skills in machine operation and production processes.
- Competency in using hand tools.
- Experience with general labor and production work.
- Familiarity with packaging, shipping, and receiving.
- Experience as a shop helper or general production worker is advantageous.

Work EnvironmentThis role is situated in a machine shop environment, operating on a 1st shift with flexible hours. The initial working hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime available.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Menomonie, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
