Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating machinery within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. The position requires individuals who can effectively manage machine operations, perform quality testing, and contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Read job specifications to determine necessary machine adjustments.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with food packaging machinery.
- Conduct required quality testing on products, such as burst tests, drop tests, and water table tests.
- Perform minor machine maintenance, including changing zipper cloth, dies, seal bars, and punches.
- Assist and collaborate with assistant machine operators to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished boxes.
- Execute changeovers and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain production reports and oversee daily performance of Pouch Assistant functions.
- Change rolls and cut out splices, ensuring quality control checks and data entry.
- Responsible for machine upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance during break/fix situations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to set up machines and make adjustments (2+ years of experience).
- Experience as a Machine Operator (1+ year).
- Capability in quality testing on products (2+ years).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting food packaging machinery, including conveyors (2 years).
- Computer literacy.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to read a ruler.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Quality Inspection expertise.
- Experience as a Pouch Operator.

Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middleton, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
