Job Title: Project Scheduler
Job Description
This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project timelines by coordinating all aspects of a construction project plan, including activities, resource allocation, work breakdown structures, and milestones. The role ensures timely completion within budget and involves close collaboration with project managers, lead field personnel, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential delays, and proactively address schedule challenges. Key duties include developing baseline schedules, tracking progress, identifying schedule conflicts, proposing corrective actions, and communicating schedule updates to relevant parties.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to create comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Assist in breaking down project scope into tasks that align with the work breakdown structure and define logical sequencing of activities.
- Estimate activity durations, resource requirements, and perform critical path analysis.
- Develop baseline schedules for project tracking and percentage complete.
- Integrate electrical schedule into the general contractor’s overall project timeline.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess and update project progress against the schedule.
- Collect and analyze progress data to identify potential schedule deviations and impacts to project completion.
- Update schedules based on actual progress and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders and communicate the impacts.
- Identify critical path activities and potential bottlenecks in the schedule.
- Proactively identify and assess schedule risks such as weather delays and material shortages, and develop contingency plans.
- Prepare and present clear, concise schedule reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and address concerns regarding project timelines.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and procurement teams to ensure schedule alignment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in construction scheduling software, specifically Primavera P6.
- Experience in project scheduling and construction management.
- Ability to develop and maintain baseline schedules.
- Strong analytical skills for progress monitoring and schedule impact analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work out of Milwaukee or Madison.
Work Environment
The role requires working closely with project teams and stakeholders in a construction environment. Regular site visits are necessary to assess project progress. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure successful project delivery.
